 1 Narrawilly ProggersThis year the Narrawilly Proggers will again be demonstrating rug hooking  at the Milton Show and entering their work.

There are the 5 different rughooking categories. All rugs entered in each category will be shown along with the winners.

Robin Inkpen will introduce you to Locker Hooking.  Each participant will receive a placemat kit containing the rug-backing cut to a table mat size, a locker hook tool, a large needle, instructions and information sheets.  There will be plenty of fabrics and yarn supplied to make your table mat. All will be provided and nothing for participants to bring to the workshop except their lunch.  The value of the kit is $20 and included.

Early Bird (available from Feb 22 – Mar 2)  $80 Full Price $90 Booking is through Eventbrite.

The workshop is in Association with the Lake Grace Regional Artspace and WAFTA’s Memory & Commemoration 2015 exhibition touring the South of Western Australia.

Rug Hookers around the world get together with friends for lunch or tea and bring along their fibre projects.  Events promoting rug making techniques are planned in public spaces.

NSW  Friday 2nd – a pre-International Rug Hooking Day event

The Narrawilly Proggers will meet at Miriam Millers Studio in Milton for their annual Fashion Show. Some of the donations of garments for rug hooking from a local Op Shop are saved and modelled before being auctioned for individual group members to purchase for their stash. Money raised goes to Heather Ritchie’s Gambia project. This is always fun and successful event. Contact Miriam for details.
